Important AlKhair English Madrasah Opening Announcements (2015)

Dear Parents

Assalamualaikum wr. wb

(Its important for you to read through the entire announcement).

We will send an SMS on Friday 9th Jan to all parents of all students in our enrolment.

If you do not receive the sms by midnight of 9th Jan (Fri)  - please check if you have changed your handphone number.

Otherwise report on Saturday through online form (No SMS Received Reporting). Please do not report earlier than Saturday.

We will also send an email on 8th Jan - if you do not receive the email by midnight of 8th Jan, please update your email address online form on Saturday at:

1. Madrasah starts this weekend ! Saturday Classes start on 10th Jan and Sunday classes on 11th Jan 2015

Session 1 & Session 2 students are required to report at the Assembly area on 2nd Floor - Snack area (next to the Ladies’ Musollah) 10 mins before class starts for Assembly and announcements. Class teachers will bring the students to their respective classrooms.

Note: There will be no Qur’an Recitation (QR) classes till 17th Jan,  so students please report by 12.50pm for Session 1 and 3.50pm for Session 2.

Please also note that, Mosque Renovation is about to start and classes on the 4th floor including EMAK office, and some on 3rd floor,  has been moved to the 1st floor.

2.  Book Sale/Collection

If you have not bought the books, kindly make payment for the books and collect the books on 10th Jan. You could make payment during EMAK fees collection hours on Saturday (3-5pm) or other times at the reception and collect the books at EMAK office (1st Floor temporary office) at the time below.

Date / Time / Venue: Sat 10th Jan - 3.30pm to 5.00pm pm (Temporary - EMAK Office- 1st Floor)

Please buy the books this week because the students will need to use the books from 17th/18th Jan. (Except Kids aLIVE 1, Teens aLIVE 1 and Youth aLIVE Yr 1 - which will be issued in class)


3. Uniform Sales

If your child has outgrown the uniform, please get a new set.

Please buy the pants sold at the madrasah. We have come across some students wearing Jeans or Tights.  Please note that this is not allowed.

Boys are required to wear white songkok, not coloured ones. Kids and Tweens Girls are required to wear black scarves too.

There will be Sale of uniform on:

4. Qur’an Recitation (QR) class for Tweens (who are reciting Qur’an) and

those who were students of IQRA program held last year, begins on 17th Jan 2015.


We are pleased to inform you that aLIVE Quranic Literacy (aQL) has been incorporated into the 3-hr aLIVE lessons for Kids aLIVE students this year and also for all Tweens classes.

As such there will be NO Kids aLIVE 4 enrolment for Qur’an Recitation class except for those who were students of this program last year.

Kindly note there is an extra fee of $5 per month for Qur’an Recitation class.

Students who attended the QR program last year must also re-register for this year’s Qur’an Recitation classes.

5. Academic Calendar & Welcome Letter will be given to your child on the first day of Madrasah. Please ensure you get this copy.

6. All announcements will be on website- only urgent announcements will be made by SMS

Since 2013, we have been making most of the announcements on the website, with email reminders to check announcement once it is made.

We will only send SMS for urgent announcements. You will receive fewer SMS this year. Please also keep your email addresses updated with us.

If you or your children are regular users on twitter, you could follow @emakpar. You will be alerted with a feed, whenever we make an announcement on this website.

7. Tips for locating ‘emak parents’ website

At times, if you are outside and do not have the link to the ‘emak parents’ website, please type ‘emakparents’ in google,yahoo or Bing and the first link will lead you to this website.

8. Leave Application if your child is not coming to Madrasah

Parents are reminded to apply for leave using online leave application form. Please note that if your child is absent  3 times consecutively without Leave Application  (AWL) , the Madrasah reserves the right to terminate the student.

9. Changes in fees collection times from 2015

You can pay fees at EMAK temporary office (1st floor) from 3pm to 5pm on Saturdays.

We are pleased to inform that, because of the integrated fees payment system, on Sundays and at other times, you can pay fees at the Mosque Reception Counter.

Please check details of your child when making payments. You can also make payments by NETS at the reception counter.
