Very Important Madrasah Opening Announcements for 2016

Dear Parents

Assalamualaikum wr. wb

(It is important for you to read through the entire announcement - Total 11 points).

We will send an SMS on Friday 8th Jan to all parents of all students in our enrolment.

If you do not receive the SMS by midnight of 8th Jan (Fri)  - please check if you have changed your handphone number.

Otherwise report on Saturday through online form (No SMS Received Reporting). Please DO NOT report earlier than Saturday.

We will also send an email on 7th Jan - if you do not receive the email by midnight of 7th Jan, please update your email address online form on Saturday at:

1. Madrasah starts this weekend.

Saturday Classes start on 9th Jan.

Sunday classes on 10th Jan.

On the first day, 9th Jan, Saturday class students, please report to the Auditorium (3rd Floor) 10 mins before class starts for Assembly and announcements. Class teachers will bring the students to their respective classrooms. From next week, students will go to their classes on their own. Sunday class students please report to the classes on the first floor. (Please see table below)

Tweens and Teens 2015 Quran Recitation students, please take Note: There will be no Qur’an Recitation (QR) classes till 23rd Jan,  so students please report by 12.50pm for Session 1 and 3.50pm for Session 2.

2.  LAST Book and Uniform Sales

If you have not bought the books, kindly make payment for the books and collect the books on 9th Jan.

Date / Time:  Sat,  9th Jan

Time : 12.00 noon to 1pm

          (1pm to 1.45 - Closed for Lunch and Zuhur Prayer)

          1.45pm to 5pm.

Please do not write the child's name on the books. Please bring the books to the class next week to check with teachers if the books are the right books and to ensure all the books are there.


3. Students on Financial Assistance (IEF)

If you plan to apply for Financial Assistance for Books, Uniforms and Fees please see the post at:  

4. Remarks on Uniform

If your child has outgrown his/her uniform, please get a new set.

Please buy the pants sold at the madrasah. We have come across some students wearing Jeans or Tights.  Please note that this is not allowed.

Boys are required to wear white songkoks, not coloured ones. Kids and Tweens Girls are required to wear black scarves too.

If your child is coming for the first time and has not bought the uniform, ONLY for this week,  please get the child dressed in Islamic Dress with long sleeves and pants with headscarf or songkok. Please buy the uniform this week and from next week get the child to wear the uniform.

5. Qur’an Recitation (QR) class for Tweens & Teens (who are reciting Qur’an) and

those who were students of IQRA program held last year, begins on 23 & 24 Jan 2016 respectively.

We are pleased to inform you that aLIVE Quranic Literacy (aQL) has been incorporated into the 3-hr aLIVE lessons for Kids aLIVE students this year and also for all Tweens classes.

As such there will be NO Kids aLIVE 4 enrolment for Qur’an Recitation class except for those who were students of this program last year.

Kindly note there is an extra fee of $5 per month for Qur’an Recitation class.

Students who attended the QR program last year must also re-register for this year’s Qur’an Recitation classes.

6. Academic Calendar & Welcome Letter will be given to your child on the first day of Madrasah. Please ensure you get this copy.

7. All announcements will be on website- only urgent announcements will be made by SMS

Since 2013, we have been making most of the announcements on the website, with email reminders to check announcement once it is made.

We will only send SMS for urgent announcements. You will receive fewer SMS this year. Please also keep your email addresses updated with us.

If you or your children are regular users on twitter, you could follow us @emakpar. You will be alerted with a feed, whenever we make an announcement on this website.

8. Tips for locating emak parents’ website

At times, if you are outside and do not have the link to the ‘emak parents’ website, please type ‘emakparents’ in google,yahoo or Bing and the first link will lead you to this website.

9. Leave Application if your child is not coming to Madrasah

Parents are reminded to apply for leave using online leave application form. Please note that if your child is absent  3 times consecutively without Leave Application  (AWL) , the Madrasah reserves the right to terminate the student.(Please see our Withdrawal and Termination Policy.)

10. Construction Works during Masjid Renovation and Safety

Please note that renovation works have started. For safety reasons please do not leave your children unattended and do not enter barricaded areas.

Please do not drop off your children earlier than 10 minutes and leave them unattended. If you arrive earlier than 10 minutes before class, please take care of your children until class begins.

11. Contact us before Saturday

If you have any queries, please contact us before Saturday 9th Jan. This is because we will be very busy during the weekend as this is the first Madrasah week and thus may not be able to respond as quickly during the weekend.
